Does Ponti Cleaner delete my files?
No. Items you confirm in the final review are moved to the Trash. The app never empties the Trash. You can put items back from History or from the Trash in Finder.
Where did the space go after a cleanup?
Items in the Trash still use space on the same disk. Space is freed when you empty the Trash in Finder. Other activity on your Mac also changes available space.
Why can't I select some items?
System areas, app bundles, the Photos library, backups, standard folders and anything you protected can never be moved. The reason is shown next to the item.
Why does a folder show as "not readable"?
The app can only read folders you chose. A folder that cannot be read has an unknown size, never zero. Choose it again with Add Folder in the toolbar.
Are duplicates really identical?
Yes. Files are grouped by size and fingerprint and then compared byte by byte. Hard links and APFS clones are recognised and not counted as extra space.
Does it send data anywhere?
No. The app makes no network requests.
How do I start over?
Settings › Privacy › Reset Scan Index. Your files are not changed.
